Finance Manager

Heyland Finance are pleased to be working with this growing and highly dynamic business in their search for a Finance Manager to join their team.

Key accountabilities:

  • Ensure profitability by delivering all standards and ad hoc KPI reporting as required by the business.
  • Oversee sales invoicing, cash collection, and purchase ledger to ensure timely invoicing, cash collection and supplier payments, with a focus on subcontractor PO sign-off.
  • Develop a balance sheet sing-off process for month-end, including P&L sing-off, board pack production, and stakeholder reporting such as quarterly bank reporting.
  • Manage the budgeting process inline with group requirements, ensuring adherence to fixed deadlines and operational buy-in.
  • Introduce a mid-year forecasting process using the same principles as the budgeting process.
  • Support organic growth, new business and acquisition opportunities by assessing and advertising on operational merits and drawbacks to provide balanced insights.
  • Participle in strategy and onboarding teams for new business or growth to cover all finance and operational areas.
  • Mentor the finance/admin team, collaborate with senior managers to maximise team potential with ensuring quality work and commitment to deadlines.
  • Monitor customer service and operations performance to minimise non-conformance and report on non-finance departments' performance.
  • Maintain liquidity by overseeing daily treasury requirements and ensuring accurate cash flow reporting and forecasting.
  • Liaise with external Dutch accountants regarding VAT, payroll and statutory accounts.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • In-depth understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards, regulatory requirements, VAT, payroll and statutory accounts procedures
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Proven track record in senior finance roles, managing budgeting and forecasting processes and overseeing financial operations
  • Experience in developing financial reporting processes
  • Supporting business growth and acquisitions
  • Liaising with external accountants and managing VAT, payroll and statutory accounts

Please note there will be some international travel (to another European office) in order to facilitate communication between the two offices.
