**Support Service Coordinator

  • Contract Type: 9-month fixed term contract
  • Location: Durham
  • Salary: £29,627 per annum
  • Hours: 37 hours plus on-call (including one weekend day every two weeks)

We are looking for a Support Service Coordinator for 37 hours a week to cover maternity leave for 9 months in Durham. The role is supporting young families to be able to live more independently.

**Day to Day of the role:

  • Organising and running activities to combat social isolation and support learning linked to support plans.
  • Handling referrals, assessing service suitability, and creating person-centred support plans.
  • Conducting weekly keywork sessions to help residents achieve their goals.
  • Managing risk, safeguarding residents, and attending multi-agency meetings with written report provision.
  • Overseeing void property management and allocations.
  • Ensuring building compliance and health & safety standards are met.
  • Assisting residents in maximising income and applying for welfare benefits and grants.
  • Working on a two-week rota, covering operating hours of 9am to 5pm on weekdays, including one in two Saturdays (with the following Monday off).
  • Participating in an on-call rotation one in every four weeks and the opportunity to work additional hours on a relief basis.

**Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable client groups and a solid understanding of adult and child safeguarding.
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with emotional resilience.
  • Strong prioritisation skills and a non-judgmental approach to support.
  • Driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential, as outreach work across County Durham is part of the role.
