Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Utilising mechanical and/or systems engineering knowledge within a product lifecycle.
- Executing all stages of the system lifecycle, including requirements management, validation, systems design, development, integration, verification, and qualification in accordance with company standards and customer requirements.
- Planning engineering tasks and generating engineering management plans.
- Converting customer and stakeholder requirements to define, analyse, and inform the total project solution.
- Engaging with suppliers and customers to ensure the solution meets their expectations.
- Managing engineering changes to ensure system integrity throughout the lifecycle and ensuring traceability of all key design decisions.
- Providing support in all areas of the product lifecycle to deliver an integrated solution.
- Planning and scheduling engineering design gate reviews and engaging with other functions (e.g., airworthiness, safety) to ensure project delivery milestones are met.
- Managing technical risks and opportunities that may affect project and system delivery.
- Liaising with engineering leadership and programme management teams to ensure adequate project resourcing and identifying potential capability shortfalls.
- Driving continuous improvement and incorporating effective systems engineering management practices.
About You:
- Experience in one or more of the following: mechanical, electromechanical, fluid, mechanisms, structures, or systems product development.
- Motivated and proactive, with a strong drive to see solutions through to completion.
- Engineering degree or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of the engineering product lifecycle.
- Experience in requirements management and verification (experience with tools like DOORS or CRADLE is beneficial).
- Appreciation for Systems Engineering Management.
- Previous experience with engineering sign-off for documents.
- Natural problem solver with a solutions-focused mindset.
- Experience in the aerospace, defence, or maritime industries is highly desired.
