Job Summary:
The Management Accountant will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and support to the business. This role involves preparing management accounts, performing detailed cost analysis, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting with experience in industry and will be adept at identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets.
- Accruals and prepayments
- Perform detailed cost analysis and provide insights into cost drivers, variances, and trends.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working closely with department heads.
- Monitor and report on financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant deviations.
- Support the implementation of cost control initiatives and drive process improvements.
- Collaborate with the operations team to understand and analyse production costs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) is highly desirable, will consider Qualified by experience or Part Qualified.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in management accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
