About the role

Reporting to the Category & Trading Manager and based in our Nottingham Head Office, this Buyer role within the Frames team is responsible for the end-to-end management and development of product within Boots Brand and house brands. This category makes up more than half of our frame sales every year!

The role requires someone who can build category strategies; develop product with a focus on customer needs and market trends; work with a diverse supplier base; and demonstrate strong commercial acumen.

You'll also work very closely with Supply Chain, Merchandising and the wider Buying team.

What you'll need to have

  • Previous experience in a Buying role
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proven data analytics skills, using Excel and reporting systems
  • Ability to build category strategies with an in-depth understanding of the customer
  • Experience of delivering category plans through strong relationships with internal teams and the supplier base
  • Ability to communicate with different stakeholders at various levels, to demonstrate your expertise and decision making within your category

It would be great if you also have

  • Previous experience in the optical industry
