Job Title: Quality Assurance Officer

Based: Cranbrook

Hours: Monday - Friday - 1.30pm - 10pm

Salary: £26,000 per annum + excellent benefits!

Are you passionate about ensuring the quality of products and supporting a dynamic Technical Team? Our client is seeking a highly motivated Quality Assurance Officer to join their team and contribute to their ongoing success.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will play a vital role in guaranteeing the quality of products against agreed specifications. You will be responsible for conducting various checks, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with investigations into customer complaints and technical issues. A busy, friendly and supportive team awaits you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough checks on finished products against technical specifications, including random weight and metal detection checks.
  • Ensure the highest level of hygiene is maintained around the factory premises, taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Complete daily paperwork, such as recording weights, temperatures, cleaning records, start-up checks, metal detection, packaging traceability, sieving records, and other quality system-related documentation.
  • Verify detergent and disinfectant strengths and take corrective action as required.
  • Perform calibration checks on temperature probes and scales.
  • Assist with checking incoming ingredients and packaging materials.
  • Support internal auditing efforts when required.
  • Maintain accurate filing of daily records.
  • Aid in the printing of product labels.
  • Sample products for microbiological testing and complete associated paperwork.
  • Collaborate with Food Technologists in investigating customer complaints and resolving technical issues in the absence of the Technical Manager.
  • Provide assistance with additional tasks and issues as directed by the Technical Manager.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse and interpret technical specifications.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of quality control procedures and practises.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and computer applications.
