Job Title: Senior Tax Accountant
Contract Type: Permanent – Part Time, 20-25 hours per week (flexible working hours considered)
Location: Eastleigh – Hybrid, weekly office presence required.
Salary: Up to Circa £65,000.00 dependent on experience

Senior Tax Accountant: Ageas Insurance have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Tax Account to manage the internal and external tax compliance and reporting activities of the Ageas UK Group and managing a range of stakeholder relationships including Ageas group, HMRC, and the external auditors.

The Senior Tax Accountant will be a primary point of contact with HMRC, building relationships with the group's Customer Compliance Manager and supporting team and managing the day to day relationship via regular written and face-to-face contact.

Here are some of the main responsibilities of Senior Tax Accountant opportunity:

  • To manage the submission of Corporation Tax computations and returns, VAT returns and IPT returns to HMRC in accordance with relevant legislation and within time limits.
  • To ensure that tax disclosures within the year-end accounts are calculated in accordance with relevant legislation and accounting standards.
  • To assist Payroll and HR with employment tax matters as required.
  • To maintain arrangements for documentation, review and sign-off of appropriate controls for tax related matters, ensuring compliance with Senior Accounting Officer legislation.
  • To ensure that the Ageas UK businesses are prepared for the introduction of BEPS Pillar II framework
  • Develop and manage the direct report to this role

Here are some of the skills, knowledge and experience required to be successful in the Senior Tax Accountant opportunity:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to relate effectively with people at all levels, persuasive, approachable and good at challenging assumptions in a diplomatic manner.
  • A broad understanding of CT, VAT and IPT. A broad knowledge of the relevant business environment and commercial awareness.
  • The jobholder must have the ability to understand, evaluate and interpret various financial data. Of particular importance is the ability to identify apparent inconsistencies in data.
  • Qualified in ACA, ATT or CTA with preferably 2 years PQE
  • Must build / maintain good working relationships with directors, managers, external parties (including HMRC), and colleagues.
  • IT literate, to include a good working knowledge of spreadsheet software, especially Microsoft Excel.
