Role Overview:
As a Fire Service and Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and installation of fire alarm systems and emergency lighting solutions. Your role will involve working across various locations, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures while delivering exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems (BS5839-1) and emergency lighting in accordance with relevant British Standards.
  • Complete accurate engineer service reports and report any deficiencies or deviations in systems.
  • Maintain emergency lighting systems and associated equipment, including fire extinguishers and AOVs.
  • Conduct van stock checks and work with the Technical Supervisor to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Maintain a strong health and safety mindset, proactively identifying and reporting risks to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Strive for first-time fixes wherever possible.

Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who possesses:

  • A flexible approach to work (minimum 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri) with opportunities for additional earnings through overtime and participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
  • A full UK Driving License.
  • Previous experience with fire alarm systems, specifically analogue addressable and conventional systems.
  • FIA training (or equivalent) in compliance with BS5839-1 Fundamentals.
  • A solid understanding of BS5839, particularly parts 1 and 6.
  • Good IT literacy and awareness of workplace health and safety regulations.

  • A competitive base salary of £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, with many engineers earning between £45,000 and £50,000 with overtime.
