Job Title: Panel Wirer/ Electrical Assembler
Location: Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire
Duration: Ongoing
Hours: 7am-3.30pm Mon to Thurs, 7am-12pm Fri

Our Engineering client in the Burton on Trent area are recruiting for a number of experienced Panel Wirer's/ Electrical Assemblers

Job Purpose:

The role of the Panel wirer / Assembly fitter is to ensure that all items are manufactured in accordance with current drawing/instruction to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Build new and modify existing steel racking in preparation for the project.
  • Strip out and remove existing circuit boards/PCB's from historical frame work.
  • Install pre-purchased equipment and circuit boards into an electrical rack using technical drawings.
  • Work with engineering to produce wiring harnesses for the first few units.
  • Hard wire electronics racks initially from technical drawings. Future state: installing prebuild wire harnesses.
  • Soldering
  • Crimping
  • Pin to pin testing
  • Electrical Test experience key to the role.
  • Complete all documentation and receipts, including inspection sheets, and apply quality stamp as appropriate.
  • Undertake training as and when required.
  • Work as part of a team within a tight turnaround time to deliver the contract.
  • To have good knowledge of panel wiring, cable management and electrical systems.
  • To work to, and support, all relevant 5S activities
  • Ensure that standard preventive measure is applied when maintenance is done on all electrical equipment.
  • Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner
  • To follow written or verbal instruction.
  • Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace.
  • Ensure all Health and safety obligations are met, and company policies are adhered to.
  • Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents and incidents by the end of that shift to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence
  • Ensure activities and associated actions and measures taken do not endanger but assist with the upkeep and maintaining the company's ISO (9001, 14001 and 45001) standards and certification

Background & Experience:

  • The ability to work within a changing environment, working to deadlines and short lead times.
  • To always adhere to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements.
  • To take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities
  • Self-motivated team player with a positive can-do attitude.
  • Organised & structured.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Must possess good vision and be able to identify different colours.

Qualifications/Education Required:

  • Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Service- Preferred
  • Previous experience in rail or automotive industry - Preferred
