Base Location: We need your base 'home' location to be ideally Glasgow or Reading although other locations may be considered.

Salary: 33,500 - 50,300 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

We have an exciting opportunity for a PMO Analyst to join our expanding Enterprise business at SSE. This is an exciting time to join our team as we progress a wide range of new and innovative energy infrastructure and digital solutions, helping the UK and Ireland accelerate to net zero with whole system thinking.

Working as part of our Business Planning function, in this role you will be key to supporting our business and projects with our Enterprise and Group level governance, providing insight to project and portfolio performance, working closely with Sector Directors, Project Directors and a wide range of senior stakeholders to support tracking and reporting of portfolio progress, key risks and opportunities for meeting our ambitious targets.

Your understanding of how a project management office operates, and experience of working in utility or major project organisations will play a crucial role in driving and increasing our success, and in doing so, drive business growth. You will have the opportunity to grow as a professional individual while you help grow the business, and you will be supported in your personal development throughout.

What do I need?

  • Extensive experience of Project governance including gate reviews and assurance and supporting project boards
  • Ideally you will have experience of working in a project management office (PMO) or business planning team in a utility company or project delivery organisation. A project management qualification would be ideal
  • Experience of Improving project process and governance
  • Exposure to key project controls (cost, schedule and risk) using these to shape the insight and management information required to enable a wide range of stakeholders to understand business performance.
  • You should be able to communicate, influence and manage the expectations of a range of internal stakeholders - making sure information is presented accurately and effectively understood by the audience. This could be to support project approvals, facilitate stakeholder discussion/decision making within the business units, performing governance checks etc.
  • Experience of producing management reporting for Executive and Board teams is desirable.
