Our client is a prominent construction company with a robust turnover of £30M to £40M, known for delivering exceptional projects across various sectors. Specializing in light industrial construction, they handle projects ranging up to £18M and are committed to quality, innovation, and sustainability. They are now looking to add an experienced Assistant Project Manager to their team, someone who can manage projects simultaneously.

Job Description:

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of our client's construction projects, particularly focusing on groundworks within the light industrial sector. You will collaborate closely with project managers and site teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing multiple construction projects, each valued at up to £5M.
  • Oversee and coordinate groundworks activities, ensuring alignment with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Foster strong working relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 years of post-graduation experience in construction project management, with a good understanding and experience within groundworks
  • Proven experience managing light industrial projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and industry standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building and maintaining relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a keen attention to detail.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management or a related field.
