Buyer
An established, successful manufacturer is recruiting an experienced Buyer to work from their Aston headquarters. You join the small purchasing team and take responsibility for a selection of suppliers to build strong supplier relationships and negotiate favourable terms. You will take ownership of the purchasing of a range of parts and materials to ensure that production targets are met.
As the Senior Buyer you will support the Purchasing Manager:
- Work with existing supply base across the UK to ensure the best possible material supply.
- Build very strong relationships and where possible deliver more favourable commercial terms.
- Look at a range of new suppliers to increase the supply base.
- Work closely with shopfloor functions to enable a smooth flow of materials and production
- Overall, you will work to improve the purchasing function and ensure it is best in class to enable the production targets to be met on time in full.
To be successful within the role as a Buyer you will have:
- Previous experience as a Buyer/Senior Buyer within a manufacturing business.
- Proven negotiation skills and to have an in-depth understanding of commercial terms.
- Understanding of Manufacturing.
- Ideally you will have purchased a range of materials and components.
- Worked with a range of MRP/ERP systems.
The company offers a salary between £30-£35k plus 25 days holiday (Not including bank holidays), flexible working with some working from home, and the ability to embed yourself into a successful business and to become an integral part of the team.
