Transport Administrator
Bamber Bridge - Preston
£23,000 - £25,000 per annum, plus bonus
Hours: 7am – 3.30pm, 8am – 4.30pm, 9am – 5.30pm – The team rotate shifts each week.
My client, a multi sited family run transport company, established for over 100 years are looking to recruit a new Transport Administrator to join their team at Bamber Bridge.
Working in a busy, fun and lively office, your duties will include:
- Working mainly on the inhouse Traffic Management System and the Network Partners Systems, following through deliveries to their end destination
- Checking deliveries are running on time and informing the customer of any issues
- Dealing with a high volume of customer queries via phone and email
- Liaising internally with the Traffic Department with regard to any changes or updates to the system (e.g. pallet quantities or date changes)
- Checking the Network Partners Systems to ensure all pallets are out for delivery and informing the customer of any issues
- Arranging re-routes if necessary (e.g. if a pallet has been mislabelled)
- Dealing with the unallocated freight sheet from the warehouse. This is a list compiled by the warehouse mid morning each day which details the job number of any pallets on the warehouse floor which have not gone out but show today's delivery date.
Who we are looking for:
- Ideally experience gained in a similar transport customer service / administration role
- A lively and upbeat personality
- Very strong customer focus with excellent telephone manner and first class customer service skills.
- High level of attention to detail
- Someone with loads of common sense and logic
- Someone who will roll their sleeves up and take ownership of a problem and look for solutions
- Someone who will go above and beyond for the benefit of their customer
