This is a newly created role due to internal promotion. Our client is an organisation that provides business services and consultancy solutions for major projects in the UK. With a Turnover in excess of £50 million for 2023 they are a profitable business with major long-term projects in place delivering sustainable growth. The Role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller this is a progressive role for an ambitious and self-motivated individual looking to develop their skillset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate, timely and compliant management of all accounting transactions
- Take ownership and deliver continuous improvement of all transactional and key finance processes
- Detailed cashflow reporting and forecasting to ensure effective working capital management
- Production of monthly management accounts with supporting analysis and commentary
- Monthly balance sheet and payroll reconciliations
- Tax preparation duties and liaison with external tax advisors
- Provide technical support for year-end statutory accounts and audit schedule
- Management, development, mentoring and support of a small team
- Continuous improvement of process accuracy and efficiency
- Provide ad hoc support to the Financial Controller and other stakeholders as required
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified ACA/ACCA, or a finalist level candidate intending to qualify from Practice or Industry
- Demonstrable experience of accounts preparation and monthly management accounts
- Experience of managing and developing junior staff members is desirable
- Strong MS Office experience and knowledge including intermediate/advanced Excel
- A positive 'can do' attitude to establish key relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Able to work as part of a team as well as use own initiative
Salary & Benefits:
- Circa £45,000 - £50,000 + benefits
