Randstad are supporting HSCNI within a residential children's setting to recruit Children's Residential Support Workers for a small unit based in North Down.

  • Band 4 & Band 5 roles with a pay scale of £12.86 - £14.53 per hour
  • Shift times 7am-3pm & 2pm-10pm, long days also available, alternative weekends as per rota

Requirements:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Social Care / Childcare essential or equivalent
  • Degree in Social Care highly advantageous although not essential for Band 3 / 4 posts
  • 12 months minimum experience working within Children & young people
  • Previous experience within a Health & Social Care Trust or private sector residential client would be highly advantageous although not essential
  • Has a proven track record of effective communication and organisational skills in residential childcare, health and/or social care/youth justice/education sectors
  • Ability to engage, support and build supportive trusting relationships
  • NISCC registration essential
  • IT Literate with proficient data entry skills for case file management and young person reports
  • All roles are subject to enhanced vetting including an Enhanced Access NI check
  • All posts are subject to an Occupational Health questionnaire

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the provision of safe, effective person - centred, compassionate care for children and young people
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all information, regarding service users at all times
  • Report and accurately record all activities undertaken
  • Accountability for safeguarding children and young people from potential risks and harm
  • Ensuring that children and young people are cared for in every element of their lives
  • Being understanding through meaningful, non-judgemental relationships and respect the dignity, wishes and beliefs of all service users
  • Collaborating with your team, external agencies, family members, and specialist departments to achieve the best outcomes for our young people
