Assistant Management Accountant

A highly successful professional services business is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team in the Havant area. The position holder will be an intricate part of the finance team, providing support to the senior leadership with reporting, analysis and a plethora of other transactional duties. This role would be ideally suited for a senior accounts assistant or assistant accountant who is seeking that next move in their career to develop their experience further and pursue a management accounting path.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing support on financial reporting including preparing the monthly, quarterly and annual statements, preparing the reports and accompanying analysis and ensuring that deadlines are met
  • Monitoring financial performance against the set-out budgets, and collect data to support findings
  • Handling the reconciliation of bank statements, the general ledger accounts, customer accounts and balance sheets
  • Managing the intercompany accounts and ensuring that financial records are accurate and complete
  • Providing support for the internal and external audit process by maintaining documentation, ensuring activities are compliant with regulations and policies
  • Supporting on both month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Assisting with transactional duties including processing supplier invoices, raising sales invoices, preparing payment runs, following up on outstanding customer payments and providing supplier and customer support when needed for discrepancies and queries
  • Providing ad-hoc support with administrative responsibilities and ensuring that records and files are kept updated and accurate

What you will need to Apply:

The ideal candidate for this role will have or be working towards a CIMA or other accounting qualification or be in possession of a finance related degree. Applicants should have good experience within a comparable finance role, with strong experience in transactional finance responsibilities such as sales and purchase ledger and reconciliations. Excellent proficiency with account software is required, alongside knowledge of accounting principles. Fantastic communication skills would be highly sought after. Applicants must have a full clean driving license and be aware that this role will incur a small amount of travel.
