Driver Hire Leeds West are currently looking to recruit a number of 3.5 Tonne Delivery Drivers to join our current and expanding team of drivers working for one of our renowned clients based in Leeds LS11.

They are the UK's leading wholesaler of healthcare productions working alongside 17,000 pharmacies, doctors, hospitals and health centres from their 12 service centres across the UK.
We are looking for drivers with experience who would be happy to work on a full-time basis, with the potential for some work on a Saturday. However, reliability is paramount. Our customers current team of drivers work around 48hrs per week with normal shift times starting around 0630am.
As part of your role, you will be expected to be a safe and competent driver, observing speed limits and other traffic signs, giving due regard to other road users. You will also be responsible for daily checks to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including checking of the lights, brakes, coolants etc, and be report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays to the driving team. You will also be responsible for ensuring that your vehicle is loaded correctly, and collect any goods for credit, mail, cheques, or delivery bins and their safe return as instructed by the branch management.
We are looking for drivers who have great customer service skills, taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty - you are the face of the company. You should also have great communication skills able to convey information clearly. Working as a part of team is also a big part of this role as you will work with the team to move towards completion of their goals. You should also be safety aware and report any issues quickly. We are looking for drivers who can work under their own initiative and work unsupervised. Full, in-depth training will be given to all successful candidates.
Essential requirements of the role

You must be over the age of 21 due to vehicle insurance requirements

A full UK driving licence with no more than 3 live points

Driving licence checks will be done on a regular basis.

A good standard of numeracy and literacy.

Experience of Multi-Drop is desirable

Route planning experience is preferred

The ability to complete some manual handling and handballing responsibilities
All candidates will be expected to complete both Driver Hire's internal driving assessment questionnaires and attend an in person driving assessment with our client.
Whilst many of our pay rates are determined by our clients; we will always argue for the best pay rates for our drivers. Our Payrates start at £12.89ph, however, more can be earned with weekends rates exceeding £15.47. These rates include Holiday Pay upfront.
Our client is looking to take drivers on a temp to perm assignments, meaning that following 13 weeks of working on behalf of Driver Hire Leeds West, you will become eligible to transfer to the client, where you will enjoy their full-time benefits including an annual salary of £34,000 per annum.
