Robert Half is proud to be working with a market leading business within the engineering industry in its search for a project accountant.
This is a key role within the Finance Team, reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for all aspects of reporting the financial performance of the business. As the Project Accountant you will work closely with the finance team to provide accurate and timely financial project reporting, ensuring the gross margin performance is monitored and proactively managed.
Responsibilities:
- Further develop and maintain project gross margin reporting templates in a standardised form across all projects.
- Lead on the preparation of financial planning forecasts with input from the delivery team.
- Working closely with the delivery team to ensure project revenue and costs are recognised accurately, including project percentage completion (POC).
- Producing monthly actual v budget analysis and gross margin review packs, providing key insight to the financial performance of HM Projects to date.
- Proactively identify potential issues and solutions with the delivery team to ensure projects stay on budget and margin.
- Discuss current drivers and challenges within project performance to inform future forecasting.
- Support with financial input into the project initiation documents as required.
- Continuously review and enhance reporting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with the Arriva internal controls system.
- Assist in other management accounts tasks as required by the Finance Manager
- Adhoc Financial Analysis and other tasks as required by Directors/Managers
You:
- ACCA/CIMA part qualified
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent IT skills - MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel,Word and SAP)
- Previous experience in Management accounts (min 3yrs)
- Proven experience in financial management within the project accounting field.
- Previous experience in an engineering/construction industry background would be preferred.
- Ability to travel
