Demand Planner

Our client, a market-leading manufacturer in Milton Keynes is looking for an experienced Demand Planner to take responsibility for all aspects of product planning and optimisation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a home-known brand and would suit a proactive candidate, who understands demand can improve efficiency and is able to develop systems. After your initial training you will have 4 direct reports.

As Demand Planner your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee all aspects of demand planning, ensuring products are available when required
  • Utilising historical usage trends and data to create forecasts for the business to purchase and inventory manage more efficiently
  • Co-ordinating cross-functional collaboration to ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasting
  • Develop tools and processes to manage the forecast efficiently and drive more effective forecasting across the business
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to plan stock optimisation for promotional campaigns
  • Review product ranges to manage stock peaks and lulls
  • Inventory management to ensure a balance between overstocking and stock-outs
  • To assist in the target of reducing our overall stock holdings across the business

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in Demand Planning
  • Strong understanding of demand and ability to develop systems
  • Understanding of promotions and how much stock is needed for promotions
  • Improve efficiency of stock/inventory
  • Confidently able to educate across departments
  • Good communication skills
