Butler Rose are delighted to be supporting a Taunton based organisation who have a current requirement for a Buyer on a 12 month FTC basis. The role is wide ranging in scope and will see the chosen person assist the business by delivering a first class procurement service to create value and improve efficiencies in this fast paced manufacturing environment. Duties are wide ranging in scope, and will include the following:
- Supporting the Head of Procurement in providing the business with 1st class procurement services
- Liaising between suppliers, internal departments, and customers
- Identifying potential new suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships
- Negotiating and agreeing new contracts with suppliers, including discount structures and volume rebates and monitor their progress
- Help reach decarbonisation targets, by working with our suppliers to reduce carbon emissions.
- Liaising with the planning team and communicating any supply issues
- Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities
- Giving presentations about market analysis and possible growth
- Developing the businesses procurement strategy in conjunction with the Procurement and Logistics Manager
- Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors and insights
To be chosen for the role you must possess the following skills/experience:
- A CIPS level 3 qualification is desirable
- Minimum of 3 years buying experience, preferably in packaging.
- High Level of competence in the use of MS Excel with experience of using an MRP system.
- Proactive, positive and highly motivated with the drive to succeed as part of a team.
Package:
- Salary up to £45,000
- Full time Monday to Friday role
- 12 month FTC with the potential opportunity for a permanent role in the future
