FINANCE OFFICER - BELFAST

SALARY: £26,000 - £29,000 per annum

EMPLOYMENT: Permanent, full-time (office based with a view to move to one-day working from home)

My client is a leading non-profit organisation based in Belfast. They are currently seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The successful Finance Officer be part of a finance team supporting the Head of Finance Services in the promotion of efficient and effective delivery of strong financial management within the organisation in support of a strong, sustainable outcomes-focused and evidence led organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Complete project grant claims, ensuring eligibility and accuracy of the information provided to the funding bodies.
  • Ensure all claims are authorised in accordance with the organisation's policies and funders' requirements.
  • Maintain a filing system of supporting claim documentation.
  • Complete financial reports for various funding bodies.
  • Complete and reconcile funding drawdowns.
  • Liaise with funding bodies and prepare for and engage in the audit of project finances and verification visits.
  • Reconcile grant claims to the Sage accounting package.
  • Maintain project budgets and liaise with Project Managers.
  • Financial Management
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Sage 200 accounting package to ensure the integrity of the system and the accurate and timely provision of financial information.
  • Support with the processing of sales and supplier invoices, including credit control.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with the provision of monthly management accounts.
  • Process on-line bank payments.

What you'll need to succeed!

  • 5 GCSE's to include English and Maths at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years working in a finance role with at least 1 year of experience working at a similar level.
  • Experience of maintaining budgets.
  • Experience of producing financial reports, such as income and expenditure.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with external organisations.
