Summary
My high-profile Utilities client is looking for a Senior Network Delivery Manager to join their team Based at their Warwick or Wokingham offices (2-3 a week on average on site) on an initial 6-month contract with chance of extensions.
Our client, a leading company in the utilities industry, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Delivery Manager to join their team. As a Senior Network Delivery Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering a network separation from NG and establishing an independent NESO network. You will be responsible for designing and deploying functional networks, configuring and installing software and network devices, and monitoring network performance and integrity.
In this role, you will also be responsible for resolving escalated issues by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure, automating tasks, and monitoring their effectiveness. You will play a vital role in creating, overseeing, and testing security measures, as well as maintaining complete technical documentation. Additionally, you will contribute to the improvement of network performance, capacity, and scalability.
As a Senior Network Delivery Manager, you will collaborate closely with network architects to design and implement functional company networks. You will be involved in installing and configuring networking hardware, implementing network security measures, and conducting regular network performance tests. Furthermore, you will delegate networking maintenance tasks, handle escalated network support issues, and prepare network status reports.
Requirements and skills
- Experience in successfully delivering major network programs
- Ability to manage large set of complex stakeholders
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive delivery
- Ability to manage 3rd party suppliers and teams
- Industry-related experience as a Senior Network Engineer or [1] Network Administrator
- Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP)
- Solid background in network administration and architecture
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
- Familiarity with access control models and network security
- Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g Python, Perl)
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds network tools)
- Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS)
