VAT Manager/Bookkeeper | Matlock area| £30,000 - £40,000 dependant on experience
Well established, growing firm of accountants are looking for an experienced, professional VAT Manager/Bookkeeper as a result of continued growth and acquisition.

Your role will oversee the VAT department, ensuring clients receive exceptional service and support.
As a VAT Manager/Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role, ensuring clients receive exceptional service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing VAT returns and ensuring compliance
- Handling bookkeeping duties for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Assisting clients with VAT queries and providing expert advice.
- Reviewing work of junior accountants
- Liaising with HMRC as required
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
You need to have:
- Proven experience in VAT returns and submission to HMRC essential
- Proficiency in Sage/Xero along with confidence in working with Microsoft packages including Excel
- A strong understanding of VAT regulations and compliance
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Effective communication skills and a client-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Payroll experience would be advantageous
- Knowledge of EU VAT and CIS reverse charge would be beneficial
