Accounts Assistant

Our established client based in Guildford are seeking an Accounts Assistant to work closely with their Finance Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up new supplier and expense accounts.
  • Code and post invoices/expenses to nominals
  • Pay invoices/expenses when due.
  • Complete office account bank reconciliation.
  • Assist Management Accountant with analysis of nominals and other reconciliations.
  • Deal with email and telephone queries.
  • Authorisation of payments for cashiers.
  • There is also potential to become involved with managing month-end prepayments and maintenance of the fixed asset register.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • Experience within an accounts department
  • Conscientiousness
  • Organised
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Self-starter
  • Self-confidence
  • 2-3 years purchase ledger experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Microsoft outlook/excel confident
  • General IT literacy
  • Purchase ledger in a professional environment
  • Previous experience of Xero accounting software
