**SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

Location: Enfield
Salary: £230 - £260 (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: Immediate Start

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated SENCO to join our school and lead our provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The ideal candidate will hold the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) and be passionate about driving positive outcomes for students with additional needs.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the school's SEND strategy and ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Manage and coordinate provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs, including supporting teachers in identifying and meeting individual student needs.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) for students, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Conduct assessments, oversee interventions, and monitor the progress of students with SEND, ensuring they receive the appropriate support to achieve their full potential.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to teachers and support staff to enhance their understanding of SEN and effective classroom strategies.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and other departments to foster an inclusive school culture that meets the needs of all students.
  • Liaise with external agencies, including educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and local authorities, to coordinate additional support.
  • Lead annual reviews of EHCPs and ensure that statutory requirements are met.

**What We're Looking For:

  • NASENCO qualification (essential).
  • Extensive knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and experience in developing SEND provision.
  • Proven experience in working with students with a range of SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A strategic thinker who is committed to inclusion and promoting positive outcomes for all learners.
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
