Overview:

Working within one of our amazing client project teams you will contribute to quality engineering activities, including functional (what it does) and non-functional (how well it does it) testing. You will learn foundational testing skills, and through your apprenticeships be introduced to coding and test automation. You will be expected to contribute to delivery ceremonies and practices, such as daily stand-ups, planning, refinement and reviews.

After an initial focused training programme, you will have a solid foundation in all the topics covered and will be able to apply the learnings to real project work on client site. We'll also give you one day per week away from client work to continue your learning journey.

This is a hybrid role, you will be based in the Edinburgh office but will be required to travel to Glasgow as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with team members and client stakeholders to develop a shared understanding of what good looks like
  • Design and execute functional manual and automated test scripts using a range of quality craft and core test techniques
  • Record issues/defects found during testing, clearly and concisely with sufficient detail to support investigation and resolution
  • Exceed client expectations by delivering exceptional services focused on what they feel matters most
  • Develop an understanding of the role of functional and non-functional testing in delivering quality software products
  • Develop an understanding of the role of test automation in software delivery

You have an appreciation for various types of software and be passionate about helping to improve the quality of products you work on, through questions, curiosity and exploration. Salary:

£25,000 per annum

Working hours:

35 hours per week, 1 day release for learning per week
