Head of IT Operations - Microsoft

Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the IT Operations on the digital platforms side. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy, managing budgets, and overseeing the operational excellence of a Microsoft-centric environment.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure Services: Lead the development and operation of infrastructure services, focusing on Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory and Azure.

Team Management: Oversee two technical team managers, responsible for Microsoft 365 and communication environment (Teams, etc.), ensuring the technical proficiency and strategic alignment of their teams.

Microsoft Strategy and Roadmap: Develop and execute the strategy and roadmap for Microsoft suite services, collaborating with internal teams and third-party providers.

Budget Responsibility: Manage monthly budget cycles, ensuring financial accountability and effective allocation of resources.

Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders, managing incidents, addressing queries, and playing a crucial role in maintaining positive relationships.

Operational Excellence: Focus on third-line operations, addressing complexities, challenges, ongoing projects, and team development initiatives.

Project Management: Oversee various projects, including platform automation and the transition from Windows 10 to 11.

Embedding Stakeholder Relationships: Address challenges in embedding stakeholder relationships and prioritise customer service excellence.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in IT operations and stakeholder management.
  • Strong background in Microsoft technologies, with a focus on strategy and roadmap development.
  • Previous experience managing budgets and third-party relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Operations-focused mindset with a keen eye for strategy and team development.

Interview Process

  1. Teams Call: Initial interview with the Hiring Manager and a Microsoft architect (focused on Microsoft roadmap, not overly technical).
  2. JVR Testing: Assessment between the first and second interview stages.
  3. Teams or Face-to-Face: Final interview with the Hiring Manager and HR, delving deeper into your experience and fit for the role.
