Job description:

Reporting directly into the Category Controller, we have an exciting new role to work on our Tesco account in an automonous role as a Category Manager on a 12 month FTC. This is an excellent opporutnity to work on an account which is a lead supplier within a highly dynamic category. You will have full responsible for category development and hit the ground running.

You will deliver sustainable Category value and volume growth & out-performance for Premier Foods within your customer. Build relationships with customer – Buyers, Senior Buyers and Category Planners to ensure we are partners of choice Balance workload and priorities between customer-focussed support and internal strategy work to drive long-term plans.

The Role..

  • Build strong relationships with customer contacts, supporting with proactive analysis, actionable insights and strategic category growth initiatives
  • Develop objective space to sales recommendations and ensure this is aligned to range review objectives and Category Vision growth opportunities. Measure and track Premier Foods share of shelf and check variance to fair share by means of identifying opportunities
  • Working closely with the sales commercial team and account category teams to ensure they are armed with the relevant category insights and recommendations
  • Build close relationships with your internal account contacts to allow for a 121 relationship outside of BAM formal meetings and updates Balance priorities to ensure that the key category challenges are being met for both Premier Foods and for your customer
  • Be a lead voice on your category driving the internal strategy by being the internal voice of the retailer – guiding our thinking as a business
  • Support commercial sell-ins and internal NPD development on the categories to which you are aligned
  • Ensure category drivers are up to date, relevant and are being utilised across brand, CPE, and Marketing

The Key Requirements...

  • Understanding data sources, ability to use the latest tools competently & effectively to source information accurately and quickly and then turn data into insight. Excellent excel skills (pivot tables/v look ups) and numerically competent.
  • Ability to influence a buyer / merchandiser through category data. Conviction of argument and ability to drive change / convince.
  • Commercially savvy and aware of the consequences of the actions and decisions – understanding how category decisions impact commercial performance
