Job Description:

As an SEMH Support Assistant, you will be vital in providing one-on-one support to our highly vulnerable pupils, including those with PTSD, Anxiety, EBD, and SEMH. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Offering personalized support to students both within and outside the classroom.
  • Developing and implementing tailored support plans for each student.
  • Assisting with behavior management and de-escalation strategies.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and behavior.
  • Providing emotional support and guidance as students face academic and personal challenges.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications and qualities:

  • Experience working with students who have SEMH, PTSD, Anxiety, or EBD.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate disposition.
  • The ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
