Our client, a leading Norfolk charity, is recruiting for an interim Director of Finance 3 days a week for a period of 3/4 months . The main purpose of the role is to manage charity finances, provide analysis, challenge decision-making, and ensure compliance with Charity Commission and Companies House regulations. In addition you will lead the Finance Team and perform Company Secretary duties, advising on corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Finance Team and ensure robust financial controls.
- Manage annual budgets, forecasts, and tax issues.
- Oversee the production of monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
- Advise on cash management and fund distribution.
- Liaise with Trustees and provide strategic financial advice.
- Manage external auditors and produce annual statutory accounts.
- Ensure statutory compliance and timely return submissions.
- Prepare and attend quarterly Finance Committee meetings.
- Manage payroll in conjunction with HR.
- Support and challenge revenue and capital proposals.
- Participate in the Executive Team on-call rota.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Essential: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
Experience:
- Charity sector experience, knowledge of Charity SORP and Company Secretarial function.
- Strategic leadership experience.
Skills:
- Strong business acumen, change management, and process improvement.
- Knowledge of charity governance.
- Proficiency in financial software (MS Excel, Power BI).
