Operations Lead (Actuarial) - 3 days per week (job share)

A London market insurer has opened a new opportunity to join their Capital and Reserving team on a part time basis. This business is a sizeable insurer within the industry, but is able to deliver that small company feel. Having been through many systems and operational changes over the years there is an established function in existence that will allow you to thrive in the role. You will interact with various people from around the business with the Actuarial team being a predominant focus.

This role will support all things Operations within the Capital and Reserving team, sharing responsibilities with the existing Operations lead as they move to part time. Working at the heart of the business, you will take responsibility for the Reserving side of the team, looking to find operational efficiency's wherever possible while driving forwards a high performance culture. This role will require a good understanding of the Actuarial process and their deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the delivery schedule which will be reviewed my team management and ensure it is embedded effectively for efficient resource management
  • Gather and compare time-sheet information to inform planning improvements
  • Create, maintain and log process flows, procedure documents and controls
  • Utilise data contracts to collate and communicate data requirements
  • Highlight any gaps in regulatory requirements
  • Maintain team documentation library and reviewed within agreed time-lines
  • Maintain SharePoint and MS Teams sites and ensure they are being used correctly and look for areas of automation
  • Own reporting and presenting to management on all of the above responsibilities
  • Act as the point of contact for all external operational queries / requests

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience working with Actuarial team is highly preferred (high level knowledge of Actuarial processes is a must)
  • Operations management experience in Pricing, Underwriting, finance also considered
  • Experience in non-life insurance with a strong understanding of the Lloyd's of London market and financial regulatory reporting
  • 2:1 degree preferably in accounting, business or equivalent business experience
  • Previous experience in project management with extensive planning, scheduling and prioritisation management
  • Resource management skills
  • Process improvement knowledge and experience
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office 365 applications including SharePoint / Teams / Excel Word
