Area Estate Manager

Join a well-established, family-run business known for its excellent local reputation. We are seeking an Area Estate Manager to oversee all buildings and grounds across our 5 care homes, 6 staff houses, and 1 domiciliary care agency in Cornwall. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards and ensuring all facilities are compliant and well-maintained. You will manage maintenance and gardening staff, oversee projects, and be the main point of contact for all estate-related matters.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee and manage the maintenance, gardening staff, and contractors to ensure all tasks are reported effectively and rectified promptly.
  • Act as the main point of contact for maintenance teams, planning jobs, and managing budgets for specific projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all building regulations including fire regulations and Health and Safety at work.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with management staff to ensure all compliance tasks are completed on time.
  • Take overall responsibility for the premises within the group, ensuring no compromise on quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be based in Cornwall and have a valid UK driving license.
  • Proven experience in managing teams, preferably with project management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of building work and compliance obligations related to fire regulations and Health and Safety.
  • Experience in writing and implementing Risk Assessments.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
  • Previous experience in a care setting is desirable.
  • Hands-on-building experience is highly desirable.
