Production Planning Controller

Day-to-day of the role:
- Act as the central point of contact between various departments, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
- Work closely with the Estimating team to apply consistent logic to machine, material, and batch size selection.
- Maintain and update the Master Production Schedule to provide accurate daily plans.
- Offer a clear view of production requirements for customer orders with a rolling 10-day production plan.
- Report on plan versus actual KPIs, analyzing variances to inform production adjustments.
- Advise on lead times, capacity, and utilisation to optimise production efficiency.
- Implement small batch and levelling principles to enhance production flow and material yield.
- Manage inventory levels to balance supply continuity against overproduction risks.
- Drive continuous improvement in planning systems, focusing on efficiency, quality, and service.
- Develop processes to improve medium-term planning accuracy and installation schedule integration.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant diploma in Operations Management or Supply Chain Management is desirable.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power Query, and PowerBI.
- Knowledge of Lean principles in planning and supply chain contexts.
- Strong mathematical ability, ideally to A-level standard.
- Proactive approach to challenging and improving work practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and adaptability to various digital tools.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with effective decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership.
- Resilience and calm under pressure with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
