Our flagship Netbase System is a data rich hub that acts as a Digital Twin of our client water operators' networks, with a suite of best practice applications providing source to tap insights for network monitoring, operation, optimisation, management and regulatory reporting. Our Netbase Digital Services Platform extends the value and insights of the Netbase data Hub, providing advanced web-based technologies and solutions supporting innovative analytics, operational, field services and leakage activities.

We are looking for junior DevOps engineers to join our development team and help drive forward the ambitious roadmap for our cloud-based solutions. We want candidates who are enthusiastic about the latest software trends and technologies and have a willingness to learn, progress and grow within our team.

What We Do

  • Provide innovative solutions to the water industry
  • Develop cloud, enterprise, web and mobile solutions
  • Integrate, process, and analyse data from many corporate and third-party systems
  • Design complex data science and advanced analytics solutions
  • Develop extensive reporting, data mining and visualisation tools
  • Employ cloud and other cutting-edge technology to solve real industry problems

What's Involved?

  • Working with cross-functional teams to support software development process
  • Automating maintenance and deployment through Infrastructure as Code practices
  • Ensuring systems are scalable and secure
  • Monitoring and supporting operational systems
  • Implementing and improving DevOps best practices and processes
  • Researching new technologies and processes
  • Dedicated mentor will be available to provide support and guidance
  • In-house training and support for obtaining relevant certifications

Desirable Skills

  • Degree level education in relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Experience in or understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience of relevant programming or scripting languages (e.g. Python)
  • Understanding of DevOps Practices and Tools (Configuration as code, CI/CD)
  • Exposure to Software Development practices
  • Exposure to version control systems

What We Offer

You will receive a starting salary of £28,000 or higher depending upon your experience, skills and qualifications, alongside additional benefits including an employer contributory pension scheme and annual leave entitled that increases with length of service.

You will be employed on a permanent contract, working 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours daily, Monday to Friday, with flexible working day structure starting between 8am and 10am and finishing between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.

Our company offices are in Birkenhead and are easily accessible in a central location with great transport links. There are hybrid working options available with a split of on-premise and home working.
