Neighbourhood Housing Officer

Here at Havebury Housing, we are looking for a Neighbourhood Housing Officer who will be responsible for the management specific area of properties in all elements of housing and neighbourhood management. Your role is integral to the services we offer our tenants residents and customers and will offer a proactive, high quality and customer focused neighbourhood management service. You will respond positively and in line with our values to sensitive situations, challenging behaviours and complex problems and will be able to apply law, policy and best practice to your decision making.

Requirements

Outline of key responsibilities...

  • You will assist with the management and resolving of tenancy and estate management issues, as part of one team
  • Being proactive to investigate potential breaches of tenancy conditions and ensure appropriate action is taken to resolve matters, including serving Notices of Seeking Possession, preparing evidence, recommending injunctions or other legal action and attending court hearings
  • You will assist with resident various queries, liaising with other teams as necessary to ensure that customer enquiries are dealt with efficiently and within service standards
  • You'll complete all tenancy and neighbourhood processes, in line with statutory timescales and policies and procedures, including mutual exchanges, successions, management transfers, settling in visits, welfare visits, changes to the tenancy, regular estate inspections, tort notices etc
  • You will work with other internal and external teams and agency groups to: e.g. prevent breaches of the tenancy agreement, assist the resident engagement, resolution of complaints, record and report safeguarding or domestic abuse concerns. As well as working with multi-agency groups to seek resolution of issues that occur in and around our homes and communities.

We are looking for someone who has...

  • Full UK drivers licence and access to a car as the role is field based. You must be able to travel around sites and undertake home visits when required
  • Experience or knowledge of housing/lettings or ideally social housing, as well as experience of dealing sympathetically, respectfully and fairly with people from all backgrounds
  • Demonstrate experience of ability to work as a flexible, collaborative team member working with colleagues to deliver business objectives
  • Experience in managing personal data and using and keeping computer management systems to maintain accurate and up to date records Knowledge and understanding of current legislation in relation to housing issues, particularly landlord and tenant law within social housing
  • An understanding of policy issues and the ability to deliver excellent customer services in line with Havebury's, policies, procedures, vision and objectives Commitment and an understanding of the need to deliver services with a clear focus on value for money
