Finance Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join the team encompassing an all-round role.

The Finance Manager, based in Soho, will report into the FD and this will be a hybrid role of 3x days a week in the office.

The ideal Finance Manager will have SME experience and exposure to WIP/billings.

Finance Manager Responsibilities:

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist senior management with the preparation & presentation of the annual budget which supports the company business plan.
  • Maintain and adjust the budget model as it is reforecast each quarter.
  • Regular liaison and communication with budget holders and business managers with respect to financial performance of their function and providing variance analysis from planned performance to inform reforecasting.

**Cash Management

  • Manage the cash balances of the practice and prepare weekly cash flow projections
  • Prepare & process all payments
  • Monitor receipts and support and advise on credit control activity as necessary

**Statutory Accounts and Audit

  • Liaise with external Accountants on the preparation of annual statutory accounts and provide any schedules and reconciliations required.
  • Reconcile final management accounts with annual statutory accounts.

Management Accounts

  • Preparation and processing of all month end journals required to produce monthly profit and loss and reconciled balance sheet statements.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts with variance analysis
  • Preparation of monthly finance pack and key insights to the business commentary for the Board

Other Tasks

  • Support the Finance Director with providing financial information, analysis or presentations for the Board and team functions.
  • Review of team billing targets and associated billing reports.
  • Involvement in development of financial reports in Powerbi from CMAP
  • Update policies and procedures and deliver finance training.
  • Carry out reasonable requests made that are within the broad remit of the role

Finance Manager Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent is preferable but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven accounting experience
  • Well-developed analytical and financial skills and experience.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced ICT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of financial management within professional services, ideally in the Construction or Built Environment sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
