Purpose and Scope: The Data Assurance Lead, reporting to the Global Governance Assurance Manager, supports the implementation of the Technical Specification Programme Data Assurance strategy. The role aligns with our Performance Ambition to be trusted by all stakeholders for conducting business ethically, from grain to glass.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of organizational data.
Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard data assets.

Integration into Technical Specification Programme:

The Data Assurance Role will be integrated into the Technical Specification Programme.
The role involves updating and standardizing our current data, which includes 14.5k specifications across packaging and raw materials for GBS (Global Business Services).

Collaboration and Impact:

The role holder plays a pivotal role in maintaining the security, integrity, and compliance of organizational data assets.
This project aims to allow suppliers self-service functionality for inputting specifications, reducing manual intervention from client.
Opportunities for additional standardization and productivity projects have been identified once data accessibility is achieved.
Years of experience: 2 years of minimum experience

Key Responsibilities:

Data Governance: Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure consistent and effective management of data assets throughout their lifecycle.
Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential data vulnerabilities, threats, and compliance gaps. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
Compliance Management: Monitor regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies to ensure compliance with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and other relevant regulations. Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to address any compliance issues or concerns.
Data Quality Assurance: Establish processes and mechanisms for assessing and improving the quality, accuracy, and completeness of organizational data. Implement data quality metrics and performance indicators to measure and monitor data integrity.
Security Controls: Define and implement data security controls, including access controls, encryption, and authentication mechanisms, to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
Incident Response: Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures to address data breaches, security incidents, and other data-related emergencies. Coordinate with IT security teams to investigate incidents, contain threats, and implement remediation measures.
Training and Awareness: Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees about data governance best practices, security protocols, and regulatory requirements. Foster a culture of data stewardship and accountability across the organization.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and business units, to align data assurance initiatives with organizational goals and priorities. Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance and assurance matters, providing guidance and support as needed.

Entry Level Requirements - Capabilities, Skills & Experience:

A proven record in projects and cross-functional teamwork.
Advanced competency in risk and assurance or other relevant Governance functions
At least 2 years' experience in a technical & manufacturing environment. Has delivered change programs at a market or corporate level.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Proven experience in data governance, risk management, and compliance within a corporate or regulatory environment.
Strong understanding of data protection laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR).
Proficiency in data analysis tools, data quality management software, and security technologies.
Excellent communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and drive consensus on data assurance strategies and initiatives.
