HSEQ OFFICER
Sheffield Based
Salary £30,000 - £35,000
Adept Resourcing are pleased to be working with a successful Sheffield based metals business as they look to recruit a Health, Safety and Environmental Officer to work from their head office.
About The role:
Implementation and oversight of HSEQ across the business, Facilitate continuous improvement in all aspects of HSEQ and operational performance. Provide support and assistance to the operational team.
- Have day to day responsibility for achieving high standards of H&S, Environmental, Quality and Operations required within the business.
- Monitor health, safety, and environmental regulations, and ensure the company's compliance.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, participate in inspections, and maintain all necessary permits and licenses
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess compliance with applicable regulations, and evaluate the effectiveness of existing safety and environmental programs.
- Prepare reports and communicate findings to senior management
- Identify potential HSE risks and hazards within the workplace
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness throughout the organization.
- Incident investigation and reporting
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental spills.
- Identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and ensure timely reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Evaluate the HSE performance of contractors and suppliers.
- Provide inductions to new staff visitors and contractors.
- Assist with the maintenance of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 Kitemark accreditations.
The person will:
- Be able to take on a range of different tasks
- Have the ability to work as part of a team, quickly and efficiently to set deadlines.
- Relevant professional certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
