About this Role:

Opportunity for an experienced / ambitious Project Manager to join this busy national main contractor to manage the construction of a £60m new build steel framed industrial development in Guildford. The project is a high quality new build distribution facility and construction of new build offices with construction on site due to commence in the winter. 2 storey steel framed building with large M&E package and cat B fit out for the client on a 60 week programme of works, all working within a secure environment.

Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for managing the project from the final preconstruction stages, detailed design development with the client, and throughout the construction which starts on site in the Winter through to handover in mid 2026.

You will lead your team holding ultimate responsibility for client liaison, design development, construction methodology and programming of works, the smooth and timely progress of construction on site, and financial control of the project throughout, plus health & safety and quality control.

About the Company/Client/Project:

The client is a busy national main contractor, with a turnover for the construction division in excess of £250m, with secured workload in the commercial, industrial, defence, and transportation sectors in the Hampshire, Surrey and South London areas.

Projects range in size from £15m to £70m. Work is secured through several national and regional frameworks, negotiated work with repeat clients, competitive tenders and development schemes for the investment side of the business.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

You will be an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record within a major contracting organisation, able to deliver design & build schemes up to £15m-£50m in value, or an ambitious Senior Site Manager with experience of delivering a project as NO1, and looking for the opportunity to move up formerly to Project Manager level.

Key attributes will include excellent client facing skills, design team and site team management ability, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus leadership ability, focus and drive.
