Software Asset Management

Would you like to be involved in such an important delivery? We are building a completely new system from the ground up in support of our Defence client.

**?**Our Aerospace, Defence and Security (ADS) business designs, develops, and deploys digital solutions that bring clients enduring business value across the UK's public and private sectors. Our rapidly growing Aerospace, Defence and Security business provides technology and data-driven transformation services to clients and supports the wider Sopra Steria business.

You will work with the Service Manager and report to the Solution Owner to provide hardware and software configuration support.

To be considered for this opportunity you must hold an active Security Clearance.

What you will be doing:

  • Audit/manage the programme assets
  • Administer the Asset Database and the Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
  • Administer the Licence Management database
  • Act as the programme's focal point for hardware and software acquisition through liaison with the Procurement Team
  • Be accountable for the daily management of hardware and software asset information
  • Manage the asset database/inventory to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of information
  • Gather and maintain essential information such as asset location, asset quantities, identifiers (e.g. serial numbers), and audit status
  • Liaise with programme and customer personnel to ensure that assets are managed to meet their needs
  • Provide monthly metrics and performance reports to service/project management to support performance targets (e.g. SLAs / OLAs) and to demonstrate good asset management and process/delivery capability

What you will bring:

  • Experience of operating service support function(s) within an enterprise environment
  • IT hardware and software auditing and management
  • Knowledge of procurement processes
  • Experience of working with third-party suppliers
  • Inventory management skills
  • Active Security Clearance (SC)

It would be great if you had:

  • An active Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
  • An understanding of IT hardware and software components and systems
  • Experience of reporting to various management levels, both internal and external
  • Experience of working within an agreed SLA framework and monitoring associated KPIs
  • Knowledge of ITIL Service Management processes and practices
  • Sound knowledge and experience of asset and configuration management tools, techniques, and methods
  • Demonstrable experience of managing hardware and software assets in medium to large service management environments
