Job Description:

We are on the look-out for a Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive Primary School based in Heathfield. The school is dedicated to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for our young learners and are committed to providing high-quality education that inspires and supports every child to achieve their full potential.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will be passionate about education, possess excellent communication skills, and has a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of the students.

Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide individual and small group support to students, helping them to achieve their learning goals.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.
  • Help prepare learning materials and resources.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and adapt activities to meet their needs.
  • Supervise students during break and lunch times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Participate in school events, trips, and extracurricular activities as needed.

Teaching Assistant Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
  • A relevant qualification in education or child development (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, NVQ).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of child safeguarding and first aid is desirable.
