Job Description:
We are on the look-out for a Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive Primary School based in Heathfield. The ideal Teaching Assistant will be passionate about education, possess excellent communication skills, and has a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of the students.
Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Provide individual and small group support to students, helping them to achieve their learning goals.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.
- Help prepare learning materials and resources.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and adapt activities to meet their needs.
- Supervise students during break and lunch times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Participate in school events, trips, and extracurricular activities as needed.
Teaching Assistant Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
- A relevant qualification in education or child development (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, NVQ).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of child safeguarding and first aid is desirable.
