Account Director - (Supply Chain & Logistics)

The Account Director (Supply Chain and Logistics) will be responsible for overseeing the successful management of key customer accounts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality supply chain and logistics solutions that meet the customer's needs. The role involves a strong focus on commercial acumen, stakeholder management, and driving operational excellence through continuous improvement. You will play a crucial role in building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, overseeing multiple projects, and delivering against set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Business and Commercial Acumen

  • Drive the achievement of agreed KPIs by continuously monitoring performance and identifying gaps in service delivery.

  • Conduct gap analysis and deliver practical, effective, and sustainable solutions to drive performance improvement.

  • Leverage strong business acumen to contribute to overall commercial goals and objectives of the business.

  • Anticipate challenges and proactively address potential issues before they escalate.

  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management

  • Provide expert insight into logistics and supply chain processes, ensuring best practices are applied across all areas of responsibility.

  • Understand how your role contributes to the broader logistics and supply chain operation.

  • Navigate and influence complex logistics issues to achieve successful outcomes for customers.

  • Demonstrate solid experience in the management of temperature-controlled logistics and supply chain processes, with a good understanding of CPC regulations (CPC qualification preferred).

  • Project Management

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution.

  • Adapt project management style to fit the needs of individual projects, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness.

  • Ensure all projects align with the company's commercial goals and are delivered within agreed timeframes and budgets.

  • Client Relationship Management

  • Build, foster, and maintain strong, positive relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs and business requirements.

  • Develop supply chain proposals and solutions tailored to client requirements, providing value-added services to build long-term relationships.

  • Maintain strong interpersonal skills in all client interactions, ensuring a positive and professional representation of the company.

  • Stakeholder Management

  • Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and contract management.

  • Ensure consistent communication with key stakeholders to foster trust and transparency across all touchpoints.

  • Deliver and exceed customer expectations by ensuring all aspects of the supply chain and logistics solutions align with their business goals.

  • Performance and Continuous Improvement

  • Deliver against KPIs through rigorous performance tracking and regular review processes.

  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across operations.

  • Leverage gap analysis to inform continuous improvement strategies, enhancing both client satisfaction and business profitability.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Commercial Acumen: A solid understanding of commercial business environments, ideally with experience in logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to build, foster, and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, key stakeholders, and business partners.
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Expertise: A strong understanding of logistics processes, preferably in a temperature-controlled environment, with confidence in applying supply chain solutions to meet customer needs.
  • CPC Regulations: An understanding of CPC regulations is essential (CPC qualification is preferred but not mandatory).
  • Project Management: Experience in managing and delivering multiple projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
  • KPI Delivery: Strong track record in delivering KPIs, conducting gap analysis, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Client Relationships: Proven ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, supporting the achievement of business goals through effective communication and service delivery.

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in a commercial role, preferably within a logistics or supply chain environment.
  • Experience working in temperature-controlled logistics operations is highly desirable.
  • A proven track record of managing multiple customer contracts successfully.
  • Solid experience in delivering against KPIs and driving performance improvement through gap analysis.
