Senior Copyright Assistant / Copyright Manager (DOE) 0728

Our client, a British independent record label, is seeking a music industry professional for an FTC position for a Senior Copyright Assistant or Copyright Manager (DOE). The role involves completing registrations for labels or publishing companies at PPL or PRS.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting registrations for both the label and publishing company (PPL/PRS).
  • Undertaking Mechanical Licence submissions.
  • Conducting research, investigation, and review on splits/metadata and PRO reports/statements.
  • Coordinating sub publisher copyright updates.
  • Updating and maintaining internal copyright and metadata systems.
  • Handling other ad hoc copyright and publishing work.
  • Researching copyright data for new music and updating/auditing the company's internal copyright systems using Curve software and File Maker software.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience completing registrations for labels and/or publishing companies and knowledge of PRS and PPL.
  • Additional knowledge of MCPS and other international collection societies.
  • Knowledge of basic copyright principles.
  • Music industry experience which ideally covers copyright, sync, and/or publishing.
  • Experience using Curve and File Maker software.
  • Highly competent user of Microsoft Excel, and capable user of other Microsoft software.
  • Polite manner when dealing with people at all levels, with effective communication skills.
  • Able to learn rapidly and use own initiative to solve problems.
  • Highly effective organisational skills, able to prioritise own workload and handle competing tasks.
  • Strong time management.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to keep calm in high pressure circumstances.
