Our client, a British independent record label, is seeking a music industry professional for an FTC position for a Senior Copyright Assistant or Copyright Manager (DOE). The role involves completing registrations for labels or publishing companies at PPL or PRS.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting registrations for both the label and publishing company (PPL/PRS).
- Undertaking Mechanical Licence submissions.
- Conducting research, investigation, and review on splits/metadata and PRO reports/statements.
- Coordinating sub publisher copyright updates.
- Updating and maintaining internal copyright and metadata systems.
- Handling other ad hoc copyright and publishing work.
- Researching copyright data for new music and updating/auditing the company's internal copyright systems using Curve software and File Maker software.
Requirements:
- Proven experience completing registrations for labels and/or publishing companies and knowledge of PRS and PPL.
- Additional knowledge of MCPS and other international collection societies.
- Knowledge of basic copyright principles.
- Music industry experience which ideally covers copyright, sync, and/or publishing.
- Experience using Curve and File Maker software.
- Highly competent user of Microsoft Excel, and capable user of other Microsoft software.
- Polite manner when dealing with people at all levels, with effective communication skills.
- Able to learn rapidly and use own initiative to solve problems.
- Highly effective organisational skills, able to prioritise own workload and handle competing tasks.
- Strong time management.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Able to keep calm in high pressure circumstances.
