Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

Contract: Full Time and Permanent

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Role and Requirements:

Glenelly Infrastructure solutions has an exciting opportunity for a experienced and talented Health and Safety Advisor to join our team working in the Hemel Hempstead office.

The Health & Safety Advisor will contribute to the smooth delivery of our work for clients by ensuring that Health and Safety policies and procedures are promoted and adhered to on all projects and site activities. You should have a range of experience as a Health and Safety professional with extensive knowledge and experience, ideally in the Utilities, Power, Civil Engineering or Construction industries.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Advising / assisting Site Management in drafting and communicating Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring they are completed in a timely manner
  • Carry out safety audits and inspections, reviewing health and safety issues, addressing and implementing change as required
  • Responsible for advising on overall compliance in matters of Health & Safety on site in accordance with Company policy, client framework standards and relevant statutory provisions
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, producing detailed factual reports identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement
  • Maintain core areas of expertise and impart knowledge to aid the development, training and mentoring of others as well as delivering Health & Safety induction programmes for new employees or contractors working on site; as well as refresher training and advising the management team in respect to H&S.

Required Skills and Experience

  • As a Health and Safety Advisor should have technical knowledge of health and safety legislation and keep up to date with legislative changes and ideally hold a qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH,
  • The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal to deliver key safety messages, have good problem-solving skills and strong Microsoft office skills.
  • You will be self-motivated, flexible, with the ability to work under pressure accurately on an independent basis always giving attention to detail.
  • The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and work ethic with the ability to develop ongoing relationships.
