GENERIC ROLE PROFILE
Role description:
This is an interim appointment to design and deliver a marketing campaign to drive awareness of a new investment in sport, new gym provision and a membership drive leading into the new September 2025 academic year. Work will include development of the marketing plan, collaboration with central marketing, comms and Student Union marketing teams to deliver a joined-up campaign of awareness and enhance membership sales. To ensure web pages and social accounts are up to date and deliver material around Open Days,' Applicant Visit Days and a plan to deliver freshers week activity and marketing plan, webpages and on/ offline materials for promotions.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Good secondary education (see role-specific criteria below).
- Effective planning and organisational skills to organise own workload and priorities.
- Effective oral and written communications skills to work with colleagues and customers providing information and responding to questions and queries.
- Ability to work flexibly within a small team and on own initiative.
- Competent IT skills to effectively manager own workload - MS Suite.
ESSENTIAL ROLE-SPECIFIC CRITERIA
- Good computer literacy and IT Skills. Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite 6, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Premier Pro and Illustrator.
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification or experience
- Proven ability to create content, including proof reading, copy editing and ability to adapt communication for different channels and audiences.
- Understanding of social media how to be an active and influential part of the social media community
- Understanding the importance of branding in communications, and the ability to work within brand values.
- Working knowledge of social media monitoring, scheduling and web analytics
- Evidence of an interest in promoting Sport, Fitness and Well-being and be able to demonstrate the wider value of Sport in a Higher Education setting.
- Proven ability to engage positively with a wide range of customers.
- Experience of developing promotional material and implementing communications plans.
- Experience of keeping records and monitoring and evaluating responses to marketing campaigns
- Experience of evaluating web content and making suggestions for improvement
- Graphic design skills and experience working with CS6.
- Understanding of brand identity and brand values and how visual identity reflects brand.
- Proven experience building an audience through social media.
- Occasional unsocial hours to cover events/competitions etc.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Experience of Google Analytics and Search Engine Optimisation
- Photography experience and skills using Canon DSLR or equivalent.
- Video production and editing experience and skills using Canon DSLR or equivalent.
- Experience in using HTML and packages such as Mail chimp.
- Relevant experience working in a university or similar environment.
- Additional qualification in digital/social media marketing
