Supervisor

Salary - £28,404 to £33,417 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours - 40 hours per week, 8.00am to 5.00pm
Location Postcode - PE1 5XG

As a Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will assist the Operations and Transport Manager/ Contract Manager in controlling and co-ordinating the safe and efficient operation of day to day using of the site. You will ensure the delivery of high standards of customer service and care by actively encouraging reuse and recycling.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week, however, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).

What will you be doing?

- To be aware of and conversant with, the relevant details of the Facility Permit, Working Plan, Risk Assessments and SWPs, COSHH Assessments, Emergency Procedures and other relevant health, safety & environmental documents
- To deliver Toolbox talks to members of staff and assist with the development of safe working practices.
- To manage the Integrated Management System and maintain the Site Filing System
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation at all times and especially health and safety in the workplace and the 'Duty of Care'
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions
- Ensure site is maintained in tidy working order, and all wastes separated
- To organise and work in accordance with staff rosters and the provision of cover for planned / unplanned absence, and that operatives' holidays are covered, and records kept
- To ensure that the site is adequately staffed with suitably trained and motivated attendants
- To ensure that the HWRC machine operators keep all plant and equipment in an efficient and safe manner
- To be courteous to customers at all times, thereby providing exemplary customer service
- To ensure that the HWRC attendants adopt a friendly and helpful manner with the customers who use the sites
- To assist customers wherever safe, practical, and necessary
- To ensure that the HWRCs are always kept in a tidy and presentable condition and that housekeeping is regularly attended to
- To maintain adequate roadways and parking areas for customers to be able to deposit their waste materials in a safe and efficient manner
- To conduct daily site inspections ensuring that they are recorded appropriately and management is made aware of any issues identified, coordinating with them to ensure any issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Ensure recycling targets are met
- To ensure that all movements of reuse, recycling and wastes are recorded
- To direct and oversee the movement of these wastes to the correct disposal points
- To undertake the administrative duties associated with the recording of these transactions
- To assist the Company in identifying the unlawful deposit of commercial wastes at the facility
- To ensure, as far as possible without prejudicing safety and security, that materials brought on to the Sites are not stolen or taken away by others visiting the Sites
- To report any breach of rules, act of dishonesty, malpractice, or corruption by any member of the public, visitor to the site, or member of staff
- Manage site budgets and expenditure.
