It's an exciting time for us as we grow our Economic Crime (PROTECT) team who have a critical role to play, keeping us and our customers safe. They are our first line of defence function and responsible for day-to-day fraud and financial crime risk identification, ownership, management and control.

We are looking for an individual who is not only passionate about change but equally passionate about how we deliver in our complex operating environment. The right individual will be able to support the business through applying Economic Crime (EC) subject matter expertise to a portfolio of projects, whilst driving business led change activity. Actively engaging and influencing a diverse range of stakeholder groups across the bank, they will support the Corporate strategy while managing VMUK's EC risks and compliance obligations.

What you'll be doing

  • Take responsibility for EC technical expertise and input on a portfolio of change projects. Uses extensive best practice knowledge of internal and external issues to drive pro-active change with limited supervision, and take ownership of a complex portfolio of BAU change projects to mitigate/enhance financial crime control framework
  • Lead enterprise wide impacting projects as the designated accountable individual to support/create implementation in multiple areas across the bank, that align to the FC Policy and Technical Standards
  • Identify EC risks and define appropriate mitigations and controls across change initiatives
  • Challenge and influence stakeholders to deliver the right EC risk outcomes in line with the strategy and risk appetite of the bank
  • Drive compliance with banks Group Financial Crime Risk Policy and associated standards
  • Ensure that required EC controls are implemented by working closely with Design, Build and Test teams as well as Business stakeholders

We need you to have

  • Experience in a fraud or financial crime change role in financial services
  • Experience of undertaking project management or change management-related activities, preferably in fraud or financial crime
  • Working in an agile project development environment and helping to establish mature Agile environments
  • Managing multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment
  • Experience of engaging with, and influencing management and business stakeholders
  • Analysis of issues and development of solutions
  • Strong leadership skills with a passion for inspiring, coaching and stretching others
  • The ability to communicate implementation ideas, risks and issues
  • Gravitas to challenge and influence senior management to get the best outcome
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of Economic Crime risk and industry trends to identify risks that may impact our model

If you're successful in securing a role with us, there are some checks you need to complete before starting.
