A Senior/Principal Systems Engineer is required for an international Defence and Weapons Systems Company that is expanding their team. Hybrid/Remote and flexible working arrangements is available for this position. Salary and Seniority will depend on your skills and experience.

The Senior/Principal Systems Engineer will be part of the Systems Engineering team and will be involved with Requirements Management to existing company products (i.e Defence, Marine and Weapons Systems).

The Senior/Principal Systems Engineer will be involved in the Requirements and Acceptance of complex systems and will have the opportunity to shape the next generation of defence, weapons, marine platforms and their future technologies**.**

Key Duties and Responsibilities for the Senior/Principal Systems Engineer

  • Lead on the Systems Integration of Requirements and Systems Design Authority.
  • Work with Systems Project Teams and Defence Platform Systems.
  • Lead on change management of the Requirements Management set in DOORS.
  • Lead on review of Requirements Acceptance Forms for Systems Specification and Verification.
  • Ensure Systems Requirements provide Qualification and Verification compliance claims.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on system requirements matters.
  • Use good interpersonal skills in communicating technical systems design matters.
  • Work with a high degree of technical autonomy and professional design engineering principles and values.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required for the Senior/Principal Systems Engineer

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, or experience within engineering.
  • Experience writing and reviewing technical reports and specifications.
  • Significant experience in Systems Requirements Management
  • Good knowledge of Verification, Validation and Systems Acceptance Certification
  • Good experience with Systems Acceptance of complex products and systems.
  • Experience of using requirements management tools (DOORs, Cradle)
  • A strong understanding of other related Defence Projects, Products and Programmes
  • Experience with Safety Critical Defence, Weapons and Marine Platforms.
