Goods In Operative

Personnel Selection are pleased to be working with this fantastic engineering business, with a Head Office in Salisbury. They are currently looking for a Goods In Operative on a permanent and full time basis.

You will work 39 hours per week - 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 to 4.00pm on Friday (half hour lunch).

Responsibilities

The employee will work as part on the Goods in and Dispatch team which is responsible for the booking in and dispatching product. The main role will be in the goods in department with the secondary role being within dispatch.

  • Ensuring all stock is securely stored and protect against damage
  • Storing of Components
  • Resolution of booking in issues
  • Courier bookings
  • Supervise Dispatches
  • Customer bookings for collection and deliveries
  • UK pallet deliveries
  • Hazardous Waste Collection
  • Kitting Works Orders
  • Ladder and racking Checks
  • Stock Counting
  • Yard Tidy
  • Opening and closing of factory
  • Physical issuing of works orders

The Candidate

The candidate should possess good interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and hopefully have experience of an industrial/engineering environment. Attention to detail is a must with a good level of IT skills essential.

The job role is fluid due to the nature of untimed deliveries, so the candidate must be able to adapt to different situations and problem solve with in the team.

Personal abilities, skills and experience will be ranked ahead of formal qualifications.

The role is within the Health and Safety Act rules for manual handling but is a physical role.

The candidate will need to be comfortable dealing with a variety of stakeholders and be prepared to champion the Company's goals and values.
