We are looking for a skilled Leading Hand Electrical to join our Estates Division. This role is ideal for someone who is meticulous about maintaining electrical building services to the highest standards, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. If you are adept at handling emergencies and enjoy working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, we want to hear from you.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Lead site teams on major maintenance projects, including emergency breakdowns, major repairs, new installations, and preventative maintenance overhauls.
  • Conduct site surveys for planning, costing, and feasibility, including material and labour estimates, health and safety plans, and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with contractors and departmental staff to ensure smooth project progression and effective communication.
  • Manage the electrical workshop, ensuring cleanliness, routine maintenance, and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Participate in training and ensure compliance with changing health and safety requirements.
  • Attend sites to investigate operational problems, carry out routine maintenance, and ensure the full working order of plant and services.
  • Install electrical services and plant, ensuring compliance with technical instructions and regulations, and provide Test and Inspection of installations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Recognised Trade Apprenticeship and City and Guilds Qualification in Electrical Installation.
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification and Achievement Measurement (AM1&2) in Electrical Installation.
  • City and Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and City and Guilds 2391 – Inspection, Testing, and Certification of Installations.
  • Practical experience in the work categories described of an exceptionally high standard.
  • Experience with a wide range of electrical systems, including low voltage distribution, power systems, lighting, and control systems.
  • IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
